Modern Patchwork Spring 2014 and Farm to Fork Giveaway

I’m so pleased that my bacon and eggs chevron apron is in the Spring 2014 issue of Modern Patchwork.  I had so much fun creating this apron for Lily Gonzales-Creed’s Fall Market booth and I am so excited that it gets to live on in print.  When I came up with the bacon and eggs apron, I knew that it would add a fun touch of whimsy to my modern country kitchen.  Not too country, not too modern, but just right.

To share in my excitement and join in the spirit of Sew Mama Sew’s Giveaway Days, I’m giving away a copy of Modern Patchwork’s Spring 2014 issue along with five fat quarters of select prints from Lily’s Farm to Fork line with Windham Fabrics (including the infamous bacon print).  Please comment below and tell me what your favorite thing is in your kitchen and what you’d like to make with Lily’s Farm to Fork fabric.  I’ll pick one comment at random and send this fun little bundle your way.  And yes, I will ship internationally.  Giveaway ends Friday, May 16 at 5 pm PST.  Thanks to Sew Mama Sew for hosting Giveaway Day.  This is fun!

What fun fabrics, I would make a picnic blanket with those.
My favourite thing in my kitchen is my iron, it’s on my kitchen work top and it’s where I iron all my fabrics.. does that count or is that cheating? :o)
Failing that, it would have to be my kettle – got to have my coffee to start the day.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.

My favourite thing in the kitchen…the kettle. One can never have too many cups of tea to get you through a day of sewing!

I have been meaning to make myself an apron for ages and these fabrics would be perfect.

My favorite thing in my kitchen is a framed cross stitch with a rooster, a chicken, and a chick on it, that says “This is an equal opportunity kitchen”. I love it because it serves as a reminder that I am not the only one capable of making dinner or doing dishes, and they can feel free to help out :) I would definitely make an apron with the fabrics. That bacon print is so so so great! On a related note: I once made bacon chocolate chip cookies, and they were awesome, and we often make pancakes with bacon pieces in them!

That apron is just plain awesome! Love how you used the print to make that chevron and that you left the edge zig-zag. As for my favorite thing my kitchen, I think it’s gotta be my random vintage pyrex & Indiana glass pieces. They rarely make a showing outside of my cabinets, but that’s okay. I know where each one of those treasures are hidden. As for what I’d make with Lily’s fabric, I’ve always wanted a casserole carrier – so maybe that and some potholders & apron.

ah! i love the farm to fork collection! i already made a dress out of the bacon fabric. i bought the first four yards off the bolt the second they arrived at my local fabric shop. (they had literally JUST been unloaded from the truck, not even out of the plastic yet!)

my favorite thing in my kitchen is the big barn door hanging on the wall where we hang our pots, pans, spatulas, etc. it helps make up for the fact that we have literally zero cabinets.

My favorite thing in my kitchen is the little coffee grinder! We love freshly ground coffee! I would definitely make cute potholders with that fabric. Love your apron!

Such a cute apron. I need a new set of aprons (all of mine seem to have vanished when we moved along with several other kitchen items). My daughter and I would have a blast making our own aprons. My favorite think in my kitchen in a rustic utensil box with a rooster wood burnt into the side.

My kitchen is chickens which take me back to my days with my grandparents farm and I’ve been holding out on a chicken quilt which I’m thinking I’m getting ready to start. May go with hexagons, or triangles for a new challenge. My favorite gadget is my “corer” which takes stems out of tomatoes and strawberries etc quick and easy!

It is a tie between my Nespresso machine and my food processor. The food processor probably wins, just because it saves me so much time!

I would probably make napkins; it seems like a fitting use for the fabric. :)

I really like this one whisk we have. Not too big not too small, sturdy but not heavy and the perfect amount of loops. I say an apron as well.

Winning a copy of Modern Patchwork’s Spring 2014 is a great addition to any quilter’s library. It would be an honor to win this and those cute fat quarters. Would surely make a cute lap quilt. Thank you for being a part of Sew Mama Sew Giveaway and giving me a chance to win yours.
