School is back in session. My little guy started Kindergarten today and he’s so very ready. Me, not so much. After a few reflections and tears, I’m ready to hit the ground running, get some patterns written in preparation for Quiltcon in February and catch up on all things blog’o’sphere and crafty.
My son G asked that we turn the last messenger bag I made into his backpack for school. How can I turn that down? So, after a little seam ripping and a few new strategically placed straps, I put together this little ditty.
I added two shoulder straps, a little strap to hang on his cubby hook, and a little side tab to hook his name tag and bus tag on. I hope it serves him well for his first year of elementary school.
Morphing this bag into a backpack gave me some great ideas for a new pattern, so in the next several months, I’ll be working on prototypes and hope to release it out into the world before or during Quiltcon.
Happy school season everyone. I hope that if you have kiddos in school, they have a prosperous year full of fun and learning.
